Yes. JoyTools merges raw PDF object streams without rasterization or lossy re-compression. All embedded TrueType/OpenType font subsets, vector graphics, hyperlinked tables of contents, and high-resolution print assets remain identical to their originals.
How many PDF documents can I combine at once?
In Client-Side mode, you can merge dozens of PDF files up to your device's available browser RAM (~50MB per file). For heavy workloads or combining hundreds of pages up to 500MB, switch to our Cloud Engine for high-throughput stream processing.
Are form fields and digital signatures preserved after merging?
Standard static PDF forms and annotations are retained. For interactive AcroForms, field names are harmonized to prevent name collisions. Cryptographic digital signatures are invalidated by design per ISO 32000 specifications whenever new pages are appended.
How do I rearrange or change the order of documents before merging?
After selecting or dropping your PDF files, use the Up and Down arrow buttons next to each document in the queue list. The final combined file is generated in the exact top-to-bottom sequence shown.
Is it safe to merge confidential legal or financial PDFs on JoyTools?
Yes. In Client-Side mode, execution happens strictly within your browser's V8 JavaScript sandbox using pdf-lib — your documents never touch any server or network connection. In Cloud mode, files are processed in ephemeral memory over HTTPS and deleted instantly after compilation.
Can I combine PDFs with different page sizes (e.g., A4, US Letter, and Legal)?
Yes. JoyTools maintains each document's native page dimensions, aspect ratio, and orientation (portrait or landscape). A4 pages and US Letter pages coexist cleanly in the same output file without stretching or forced scaling.
